Silk Painting - Landscapes
As a silk painter, I’m captivated by the interplay of light, color, and movement found in nature. My work is rooted in traditional Japanese silk painting techniques, enhanced by a contemporary aesthetic that embraces saturated jewel tones, shimmering metallic outlines, and unexpected textures. Using gutta resists, salt, sugar, and alcohol, I create vibrant, layered landscapes and botanicals that celebrate beauty, wonder, and joy.
Each piece begins as a meditation—an emotional response to a moment in nature, a memory, or a song. I see my paintings as windows into places that feel both familiar and imagined—glowing horizons, flowering fields, or serene waters that evoke peace and possibility. Raised in the Bay Area and deeply connected to both Eastern and Western cultures, my work bridges these influences through symbolism, color, and form.
I aim to uplift and inspire through my art, offering viewers a sense of joy, calm, and connection. Whether displayed in a home, gallery, or public space, my hope is that each piece invites pause, reflection, and delight.
