Bob Dauber

Bob is a stone sculptor living in South Scottsdale, Arizona. He works with domestic and exotic marble, alabaster, calcite, and onyx. Bob seeks to defy expectations of this seemingly inflexible medium by carving organic shapes, whimsical figures, and sculptures interspersed with light from hard stones. He sees the sculpting process as a communication or negotiation between artist and medium: “As I try to nudge the stone toward a specific shape, it tells me what it is willing, and not willing, to let me do.”
